It's been a great run with Bob on the Guitar. Current economics are taking him away from us to Virginia on June 1st.
Bob was responsible for putting this thing together way back in the 20th century. on Nov 8th 1999 I got this email

Since then we have gotten together almost every other weekend for beers and music. Our families have entwined and bonds of life long friendships have endured.

The Coronas will miss Bob and Deb as they head east for a new adventure.
As for the band, The plan is to adapt as we are. and cross each bridge as we are faced with it.

Wow Christmas was the last post here!? Been neglecting the blog .. I am guilty.. not the only one though Sometimes I get tired of being the only one that posts here and I have only so much attention to be spread around. I have been posting on my Personal Blog and on my Second life Blog I have posted recordings on my Virtual Song Cast Podcast So my online life has bee pretty full. But then so has my off line life. The band has Played 2 Parties since my last blog here and I guess I should bring you up to date. The New Years gig was a big success again.No small thanks to Deb, she really took the bull by the horns in her planning efforts.. we appreciate her so much. We always look forward to that one. even with the stress of all the financial crap.. The Cost for the party was right around $2500 bucks. and we made $2000 at the door so It only cost the band $500 for the night.. well plus our hotel rooms but not going to count that. I only mention this because I wanted to explain why the cover charge went to $20 up from last year. The second gig was a Toga party we were hired for. it was at the visual arts collective. was an interesting night. They weren't a dancing crowd but we had fun with them none the less.

Looking forward to band Christmas party at the Long's. This is becoming a great Jack Crowne and the Coronas tradition. The last couple years Laura has worked her fingers to the bone creating this fabulous dinner party for our little group of friends. There will be plenty of wine, fantastic food, love, laughter and a table that would turn Martha Stewart green with envy. So Laura... No pressure, but you have set the bar pretty high. Thanks for your work and dedication making this party one that we all so look forward to.

Went to see the Red Rocker tonight. Tonight was the second to last stop on his tour. and after tonight's show maybe the last. We had a good time and they put on a rocking show. But Sammy's voice didn't last much past the 3rd song. Good thing Van Halen's Michael Anthony was there to bail him out. Good times not bad for a tuesday night out. Ran into Rarig and John from Band Camp Rock on guys!

Finaly got the subs ordered and they arrived a week before the first date. unfortunatly one of them had been crushed by a forklift in transit. looks like we'll be dooing the first date at the Winery with 1 sub....bummer

Spring is here! and JCC Summer Calendar is filling up. We have been working in some new songs, and changing up some old ones. Dave bought a new Mixer and we spent our gig money on a pair new JBL Sub Woofers! Looking forward to the Eagle Winery open house to try them out!

Went to Gigs Music at lunch today and looked a some subs. I can get a pair of 4ohm 18" boxes and a crossover for 700 bucks. Don't have quite enough cash yet. They told me I could take them for new years with a $400 deposit. but then if we decide not to buy them the night would cost us $75 for the rental. guess I'll have to talk to the guys and ask them about it.

I love these guys!
They can put on a party. Prime Rib, door prizes and Rock and Roll! We had dancers all night long. (evidently the dance floor was especially conducive to knee slides. or was it just the wine?) Plus it's always fun to get dressed up and get out. Playing at the Grove was nice it's a real upscale place.
The acoustic stuff was well recieved. We actually controled our volume, all in all a great time . I think we were invited back in March for another function.

Last night by the end of band practice I thought I may have spent my voice for good! You see I have the flu.Full on raspy throght and eachey body pounding head and stuffy sinus. But there is nothing to keep me from jammin with my friends! On the bright side, my lack of voice I think caused everyone to try to control their volume. moving the speakers to ear level helped too I am sure. My raspy voice kinda sounds cool on some of our songs. Today,,, I am paying dearly for the evening's fun. it's noon and I can finnaly swallow without wincing... Outch! Can't wait till Next week!! do it all over again

Bob and me got together offline and worked on some guitar parts, we spent about an hour on one Skynard solo and we still can't play it right. I think it's better than before tho. Thanks for the beer Bob!

Band Practice Recordings

Tonight was our second practice since EP moved to JP. (We miss you , bud!) This was also the maiden voyage of the new recording equipment and Ronnie has the disks. Much better... All went well tonight and the sound levels were more in check than last practice. We are still in the throws of getting used to the new location but I must say all is doing just fine.

Wow…Talking about falling off the face of the earth!!!

Been almost a month, and I haven't had time to send my Buds an e-mail.

This place is one busy place. Pretty different. Work thing is starting to settle down, or at least I'm getting use to it.
Everyday is a new adventure. It's strange. In some way these guy are so advanced, and in some way, it's the stone age!!

Work is about an hour drive + 10 bucks tolls…Each way. I ended up with a new Honda Accord. Nice enough, but sure not the vette. By the way
we ended up keeping the Vette..yessssssssssssss

Sandy and the dogs got here ok. On Saturday we get to make the drive to the Airport to get the dogs checked for the final time…
Typical Japanese waste of 4 hours……..

Money is out of control. You have your basic 1000 yen bills…10 bucks. You go thru these like $1 in the Blue Max.

The house is ok, sure not home, but a high roller place by Japan standards. The view from my house might be the best View in Japan!!
Overlooks the longest suspension bridge in the world.. Looks like the golden gate. Lights up real cool at night.

Been playing acoustic a lot, and fired up the electric on Tuesday. Everything seem to have made the trip un-damaged.

Dave was invited to a party this coming November at a house in Kobe, and in turn, Invited me. The guys told him he had a band playing
with this really famous dude.. Said he was the Eric Clapton of Japan. I told Dave, that even Eric Clapton wasn't Eric Clapton while in Japan..
This place is just so different.

Anyway, we still don’t have the NET up and running yet, so my only communication with the world is at work. Hope to have this fixed next week, that
is if we can get someone to come out and install..another 3 day weekend…sports day…What the hell is that. 2 weeks ago, it was respect for
the aged….Another world famous holiday.

Hope the Band is still rocking… Hear your playing the C-21 X-mass gig. Wish I could be there. How Practice???

Final Gig before Eric left for japan wen off with only minor power glitch. Sound was fantastic party goers were a bit sedate at first but rose to the occation A fun time was had by all. we gave Eric his going away present he took off at 9:30AM headed to Japan. Good luck Eric!

Fun time at the Eagle Winery. Turnout was pretty thin. But what the hell, we had fun. We met some cool people from the music scene Rebecca Scott, The Rockafellas, Jar, and Walter's ego.
Walter's Ego had a smokin sax player they really kicked it out. We went to River Rock in eagle again and took over their patio again, nothing passes the time waiting for your food better than playing guitar.

Dropped off a CD with some tunes and a band pic at FOX 12 yesterday I am excited to see what they do with them. Too bad the band coudn't get it together for the comercial shoot for the Wine 4 Wishes concert. But scheduals just didn't mesh. Band practice tonight looking forward to the release.
